Good news that there’s a Sandown Sprint update on the way from the Isle of Wight Car Club.
At this stage, it’s not confirmed whether this will be for 2026 or perhaps 2027? The Sandown Sprint 2026 was originally scheduled for 19th & 20th September, but Motor Sport UK has issued a race permit for an InterClub Sprint on 3rd & 4th October 2026.
Following the success of the 2022, 2023 & 2024 events, the organisation of the Sandown Sprint was handed over to the Isle of Wight Car Club from 2025. Tim Addison, who founded the event, commented: “We organised three successful Sandown Sprints with the help of the Club and I’m very happy for the membership to take this great concept forward.”
There were always going to be some changes in the format of the Sprint, but whatever these might be, it’s unlikely that the next Sprint will be held on the beach itself. This was depicted in a recent social media post by the IW Car Club (see below).
