The Island Car Centre Sandown Sprint is a new event bringing back motorsport to the Isle of Wight.

Set against the spectacular backdrop of Bembridge Down and Culver Cliff in Sandown, spectators will be able to view the sprint event from our raised spectator viewing area.

Spectators at the Sandown Sprint, sponsored by the Island Car Centre, will be able to view the track along Culver Parade from an elevated spectator viewing area. This is located on the seawall revetment which runs alongside the beach. The spectator viewing area has a strictly limited capacity in the event’s first year, with tickets available online now.

Your visit

Island Car Centre Sandown Sprint takes place along Culver Parade, with spectator access to the event from the western ‘town-end’ of the parade only. Access to the seawall spectator viewing area revetment is through Sandham Gardens, Fort Street. 

Parking is extremely limited at the event, due to the nature of the event and track layout both Fort Street and Yaverland car parks will be closed to the public. Limited disabled parking is still available.

Upon arrival to the event, spectators will need to exchange their e-ticket for a day or weekend wristband, this will allow spectators access in and out of the spectator area throughout the day.

Spectator Viewing Area

Get great views of all the action from our spectator viewing area, located safely above the action along the permenent sea wall. Spectators will be able to choose from views of the starting line, slaloms, turnaround or finish line.

Access to the spectator viewing area is through Sandham Gardens at Fort Street, entry and exit access to the viewing area will be limited to between sprint sessions via a managed track crossing. Times of entry and exit availibility will be published at the event and spectators will be made aware of access via public address systemss.

Things to do

As well as all the action on the track, theres plenty for the whole family to do at the Island Car Centre Sandown Sprint. Kid’s can test the metal behind the wheels at Sandham Gardens with their electric go-karts, give budding racers the chance to zoom around and race against their friends. (Children aged 4-12.)

Food & Drink

You’re spolit for choice when it comes to places to eat and drink in Sandown, the Isle of Wight is lucky to have some of the UK’s top producers and the local produce is showcased at a number of restaurants and cafes in Sandown.

Pick-up a quick treat, ice-cream, hot-drink or lite-bite from the Ice-Cream Shack in Sandham Gardens, located near the entrance to the spectator viewing area. Food can be taken from here into the spectator viewing area.

Located nearby, also in the Sandham Gardens area is The Bandstand restaurant overlooking all the action on the track and Sandown Bay. During the day serving freshly ground coffee, home-made cakes and light lunches, as well as cool beers and chilled wines.

Browns Cafe located in our VIP area will be open serving food and drink as well as bar being available for VIP ticket holders.
